This 6500 watt (6.5 kW) portable, silent diesel generator is suitable both as a stand-alone backup generator and for use at project sites. The Elite diesel generator is one of the few systems in market that fully meets and complies with all US and Canadian quality and safety standards (UL Certified control panel and the electrical components). The bearings in any generator are among the most critical components. Ramsond generators use the most premium bearings manufactured by some of the world's leading producers, such as NSK, SKF or General Bearing. The Elite Diesel Generator is equipped with Good Year® SAE 30R9 Teflon coated fuel lines. The Battery is made in US by Deka. I write this review 4 months after the purchase. I have used this generator for our hunting cabin. We now have about 600+ hours on this generator. As one of the other reviewers had indicated, I also have connected a solar trickel charger to keep the battery charged during the periods in that we don't use it. I must say I have a good experience with this product. It has had no problems so far and it seems to be a sold machine.

The generator is solid. very surpirsed. The price on amazon is a bit higher than I paid. but, it's worth it. I recommend it highly.

I continue to use this generator. Almost 2 years and with the exception of a the stickers peeling off (happens when you spill diesel) it has held up pretty darn good. I also recommend a trickel charger. Even a small solar panel, such as a 2 watt panel, connected to the battery if you don't use it for a couple of months at a time. I have 250+ hours. Changed the oil one time. I put Synth Mobil 1. No problems so far.
Not Made in US. But What is nowadays? Good product. May 23, 2010

For the price, this is a great generator. 400 hours. 6 months as back up. No problem. I do have a trickle charger for extended periods when I don't use it. I recommend it. I never saw any representation that it was made in the US. But in this day and age, what is made in the US? The battery is US made, the fuel lines are US made, some parts are german, some parts Chinese. Who cares!!! It runs ok. Does the job. I got it in time.

Made in China. The first 2 reviews were misleading. It seems as if it was planted to give the product 5 stars and make the item more "saleable". I can NOT recommend this product. The only thing I see that is made in the US is the battery. My justification for paying more for this generator was that it was made in the USA. There's a lot of similar generators in the market that are priced much less than this one( durostar, duromax, aurora etc..). Costco have a gasoline generator priced less than 1/2 ( chinese made also).
By the way, I just received my second unit from Ramsond. The first one was defective. It didn't last more than 10 hours of runtime. It kept on fluctuating so heavily that I had to remove my test load so as not to damage it. After a few emails and phone calls, they replaced the unit. Again, as much as I had good experience with Ramsond's customer service, I could not recommend this product.
